Nina McIntosh is an instructor/trainer at Walnut Hollow Farm where she provides novice, intermediate and advanced riders with hunter/jumper instruction.

Nina has been riding for over a decade. She has shown and placed in numerous events including those at Apple Knoll, Green Acres, Foss Farm and Cutter Farm. Her outstanding ability and skills in English pleasure, hunter/jumper and eventing are the result of her commitment and exposure to a variety of trainers and riding styles. She has trained under Caroline Tate, Marina Burliss, Sheryl McCloud and Molly Kenney and audited numerous clinics as well.

An experienced horse trainer, Nina has trained over 60 horses – including thoroughbreds, quarter horses, and ponies using a variety of techniques including  in-hand work, longeing, and the establishment of general ground manners.

Nina has a passion for “natural horsemanship” – a concept based on creating a bond with a horse based on trust and understanding as opposed to fear and intimidation. She believes that being firm while providing her equine partners with respect benefits both the rider and the horse.
